Refinishing

Our company offers partial or complete refinishing – traditional style hand-rubbed lacquer finish. Open-pore satin finish is also available as a more economical solution.

Complete refinishing:

After stripping the old finish, the veneer and the wood work has to be repaired, then stained to the requested, matched color (shade) and then all the surfaces will be sprayed, first with sealer, and then many layers of lacquer. After several weeks of drying, the piano will be hand-rubbed, satinized by hand.
This has been the traditional-style finish for many decades in this country. Only recently on the surface of European and Asian pianos one can see the shiny polyester or polyurethane finish.

Partial refinishing:

Depends on the condition of the existing finish of the piano. It is also possible to refinish some damaged parts completely and only touch-up the less damaged areas. Each piano has to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis before refinishing.

Open-pore satin finish:

Open-pore satin finish is also available as a more economical option. That means that the old finish is being stripped completely. All the veneer and woodwork is repaired and stained to the requested color (shade) by the customer. Several layers of satin lacquer will be sprayed over the surfaces. The difference between the traditional-style hand-rubbed finish and the open-pore finish is that the open-pore finish has already a satin texture. It does not need to be satinized by hand.
